Community Response
COVID-19 continues to be an infectious disease of concern in the United States and around the world. In a small community like Akutan it is essential that everyone continues to work together to make sure the spread of COVID-19 is limited and the most vulnerable are protected.
Health Professionals
Eastern Aleutian Tribes (EAT), Akutan’s primary health provider, has been a leader in the community of Akutan and the region providing information, vaccines, treatment and care for those affected by COVID-19 and many other health related issues. The Anesia Kudrin Memorial Clinic building is leased from the City of Akutan for EAT to provide services including Behavioral, Dental, Medical and Wellness for our community.
Private and Public Sector
During the height of the epidemic the City of Akutan, EAT, the Akutan Corporation, and Trident Seafoods, health professionals and community members worked together. Our efforts to make health care accessible to everyone, adopting precautionary measures, and providing isolation access helped limit the spread of COVID-19.
